Uncanny Cell Replicas

Diane Hoffman-Kim, an assistant professor of Brown University, now creat a mold for a single cell.


The Schwann cell on the left is real; the cell on the right is a replica. In the center is an impression, taken from a real cell, that is used in a two-part molding process. Cell replicas could be used in medical treatments to repair damaged nerves or in laboratory research. [the origin]
